The most popular of our selection of handcrafted swordbelts is based on an example found in a Flemish painting of the late 14th or early 15th Century.

In our testing, we've found this to be one of the most comfortable and versatile swordbelts we've ever worn.

Angled straps suspended from a large ring is one of the most practical frog designs we've encountered in our research and is equally appropriate for broadsword, small sword or rapier.

The difference between this fluid design and a rigid angled frog is beyond description. Suffice it to say that allowing your sword's own natural balance to work for you, frees you from vigilant awareness and positioning of your sword as you sit down to an ale, move through a crowded event, or kneel before royalty.

This sword belt measures 1-1/2 inches wide and averages 60 inches long. We can make it in either a right-hand draw (sword worn on your left hip) or a left-hand draw (sword on your right).

The small buckled frog straps fit scabbards from 3-1/2 to 7-1/2 inches around. If you need them longer, just let us know and we'll make a special set for you.

Please provide a measured waist size when ordering ~ not a jeans/trousers size, as they can be woefully inaccurate.

We can make your swordbelt in either a right-hand draw (sword worn on your left hip) or a left-hand draw (sword on your right).

A more recent addition to our selection of handcrafted swordbelts, our Medieval Swordbelt is inspired by examples from the late Middle Ages, when hook-and-eye style swordbelts began to appear.

We use a combination of loops and eyes that are solid and strong. The frogs/scabbard mounts attach securely to your scabbard with lace ties at the back. We custom-size them to fit your scabbard. Your sword's angle is controlled by placement of the frogs/scabbard mounts.

This sword belt measures 1-1/2 inches wide, averages 60 inches long, and is adorned with eyelets along the entire length.

As with all our swordbelts, we can make this for you in either a right-hand draw (sword worn on your left hip) or a left-hand draw (sword on your right).

We'll need a measured waist size when ordering; and we'll get some scabbard specifics from you, as well.

Swordbelt for Long Sword (XVth Century Swordbelt)

Our Sword Belt for Long Sword is based on XVth Century swordbelts. Shown side view in black leather with nickel hardware.
Sword Belt for Long Sword

This is based on a popular 15th Century design, with a belt that measures 1 inch wide and features two rings - one in front near the buckle, and one in back just left of the spine.

Buckled straps are suspended from these rings, making your sword angle completely adjustable. The rearmost strap splits into two pieces to better distribute weight and balance. Fitted leather scabbard mounts hold your sword securely.

We can make this with either a right-hand draw (sword worn on your left hip) or a left-hand draw (sword on your right).

We'll get a measured waist size and some scabbard specs at the time of your order.
